Ensure you get guests interests
- [ ] Avoid over speeding to enable you and your guests to be able on the look out for the animals.
- [ ] Encourage your guests to equally participate and on the look out for the animals
- [ ] Whenever you see animals and guests want to see them, stop and explain briefly about what you see
- [ ] Try to be scientific as possible, update yourself on the books you have . Remember you may have scientists and other learned people in the same vehicle and people who may know more about animals than you.
- [ ] Explain other things of interest in your area, birds 🦢 , landmarks
- [ ] Avoid off-road drive as much as possible
- [ ] Do not dominate the talking
- [ ] Avoid just pointing out at something you do not explain, for instance trees. Some trees are very useful locally; othes have medicinal properties while others are extremely poisonous, explain these whenever you pass eg Teminalia spinosa -A favorite staple for Giraffes 🦒
- [ ] Avoid arguments with your guests, The guests is always right . Keep off your controversial subjects like politics, religion that may develop in different opinions. This does not mean you can’t mention on traditional cultures like African prayed god under same chesen trees by offering sacrifices such as goats under such trees .
Baobabs tree and Elephants
BAOBABS TREES AND ELEPHANTS! One of the things that fascinating about baobabs is that, they have got some elephant protection. Any other tree that is wounded by elephant can repair the damage only from the sides of the wound. The baobab regenerates the whole wound at the same time – it does not have to work from the outsides in. That makes them very successful as a tree. The size of the tree varies, it can shrink and expand depending on its needs. In the dry season the trunk shrinks and when water is abundant, the trunk expands to support more water storage. Being so massive you would think that these trees are almost indestructible, but there is another giant in the bush that can cause great damage; the African elephant. Elephants know that baobabs store water and especially in the dry season when water is scarce they look for baobab trees to quench their thirst.
